Mindcrawler – Lost Orbiter

Mindcrawler is a four piece heavy rock band from Germany. The group was formed in 2016 and released their first full-length last month. Lost Orbiter is a pleasant introduction to this Munich based band.

One of the charming aspects to their music is the varied song material. Their songs are all riff oriented, but next to heavy weight songs like Bigfoot Walk and Trappist-1 there are tracks like Red Dunes and Dead Space, which are more dreamy and melodic. Mindcrawler’s approach reminds me of the band We Hunt Buffalo. Both bands mix straightforward riff packed tracks with psychedelic and catchy passages.

Mindcrawler

Mindcrawler isn’t the only band that plays this kind of music. That’s not a band thing as long as they write good songs and that’s exactly where Mindcrawler succeeds here. These are all decent to great songs. The album closer Dead Space stands out though. This is an incredible atmospheric composition. It’s melodic, but still heavy. The film samples that were used in the song really finishes it.

If you’re looking for an atmospheric and dreamy album, but still need that fix of heavy riffage Lost Orbiter is a mandatory listen. Check out and support their music via the links below.
